‘Avengers: Endgame’ Reclaims Global Revenue No. 1 Following Successful Re-release
Following its re-release titled ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’, the film has surpassed $2.925 billion in cumulative worldwide box office revenue, reclaiming the top spot globally. This success has also heightened anticipation for the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ starring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
According to media reports, Box Office Mojo tallied on the 6th (Korean time) that the cumulative worldwide box office revenue of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has surpassed $2.925 billion, approximately 3.9298 trillion won. With this, the film has once again risen to number one in worldwide box office revenue.
‘Avengers: Endgame’, released in 2019, was re-released last month under the title ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’. The additional revenue added through the re-release of a work seven years after its initial release is more than $126 million, approximately 169.2 billion won.
‘Avatar’ overtook ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to take first place in 2021 and held the top position for five years. With this achievement, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has reclaimed the lead five years after yielding the number one spot.
‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ took first place at the global box office during its opening weekend and ranked second in the all-time global opening rankings for re-released films. The re-release performance has become a record that once again confirms the popularity of ‘The Avengers’ series.
This momentum is also raising expectations for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is scheduled to be released this December.
