Jae-Hyuck Cho to Continue Autumn Stages, Moving Between Fortepiano, Organ, and Harpsichord
Pianist, organist, and artistic director Jae-Hyuck Cho will perform a series of concerts in October and November, showcasing a wide spectrum of keyboard instruments. His schedule includes participating in the 29th Chuncheon International Early Music Festival, the Bucheon Arts Center Organ Festival, and a concert with the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra.
Jae-Hyuck Cho, who works as a pianist, organist, and artistic director, will take the stage successively in October and November. Following the completion of his September recital tour "Mozart Essentials," he continues his project to record the complete Mozart piano sonatas, a move that highlights his wide spectrum of keyboard instruments.
First, on October 9, he will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major (K. 467) on the fortepiano at the closing ceremony of the "29th Chuncheon International Early Music Festival" held at the Chuncheon Culture and Arts Center. Following this, on October 10, he will appear on the stage for "Organ with Ballet," the finale concert of the Bucheon Arts Center Organ Festival: Sound of BAC, Organ Universe, at the Bucheon Arts Center Concert Hall, performing organ solos by Bach, Buxtehude, and Vierne, as well as ballet music on the organ.
On November 26, he will appear as a soloist in the 341st regular concert of the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, "A Portrait in Contrast," held at the Bucheon Arts Center Concert Hall. The schedule involves performing Francis Poulenc's Concerto for Harpsichord and Orchestra (FP 49), Piano Concerto (FP 146), and Concerto for Organ and Timpani (FP 93) all on one stage. A composition where a single performer takes on three types of keyboard concertos in succession is rare, and Jae-Hyuck Cho's interpretation and skill are expected to act as a key variable on stage.
His activities as an artistic director also continue. Jae-Hyuck Cho will lead the "2026 Haslla International Arts Festival," which takes place for ten days starting October 16, and on October 18, he will perform composer Texu Kim's piano concerto "Beyond the Inner Self" at the Gangneung Arts Center Saimdang Hall. On the 23rd, he will present "Light of Haslla: Lee Eun-gyeol X Jae-Hyuck Cho" with Lee Eun-gyeol. As his schedule involves leading both classical performances and genre fusion, Jae-Hyuck Cho's stages this autumn are read as a flow where his roles as both a performer and a planner are revealed simultaneously.
