Korean Drama 70th Anniversary Ceremony to be Held on October 6… Hall of Fame Induction and AI Contest Awards
The Korean Drama 70th Anniversary Ceremony will be held on October 6 to commemorate 70 years since the live broadcast of 'The Brave One', known as Korea's first drama. The event will feature the induction of figures into the Korean Drama Hall of Fame and an OST concert featuring various artists.
The Seoul International Drama Awards Organizing Committee, the Korean Broadcasters Association, the Korean Drama Producers Association, the Korea Broadcasting Actors Association, and the Korea TV & Radio Writers Association will hold the Korean Drama 70th Anniversary Ceremony on October 6 at 6:30 PM. This event commemorates the 70th anniversary of the live broadcast of 'The Brave One', known as Korea's first drama, which aired on HLKZ-TV on August 2, 1956.
In the first part of the ceremony, highlights from a Korean drama 70th-anniversary documentary will be screened, followed by the awards for the Original Drama AI Trailer Contest and the induction into the 'Korean Drama Hall of Fame'. The Hall of Fame was established to record the activities of individuals who have contributed to the development of Korean dramas.
In the second part, a drama OST concert will be held in collaboration with MBC's live music content channel it's Live. 10CM, HYOLYN, DUETTO, Lee Ye-ji, Lee Ji-hoon, and Song Ji-woo will take the stage.
The ceremony is structured to illuminate both the past and the present, as it looks back at the history of dramas while addressing new creative methods through the AI trailer contest. As a pre-event for the Seoul International Drama Awards 2026, the awards ceremony will be held on October 8, and the Drama Festa is scheduled to take place from October 9 to 10.
