TWS KYUNGMIN leads Kiwoom to victory with first ceremonial first pitch... Broadcasters impressed
TWS member KYUNGMIN made his first ceremonial first pitch at a Kiwoom Heroes home game, where the team secured a comeback victory against the Hanwha Eagles.
TWS member KYUNGMIN showed his presence during his first ceremonial first pitch. KYUNGMIN appeared as the ceremonial pitcher for the Kiwoom Heroes home game held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the afternoon of October 7.
Receiving support from KYUNGMIN, the Kiwoom Heroes achieved a 5-3 comeback victory against the Hanwha Eagles. As the first pitch coincided with the team's win, KYUNGMIN earned the title of 'Victory Fairy.'
The pitching scene also drew attention. KYUNGMIN took to the mound while TWS's debut song 'plot twist', which ranked number one on the Melon annual chart, played. He threw a breaking ball that landed accurately in the catcher's mitt, prompting the broadcasters to evaluate it as a "wonderful strike."
KYUNGMIN's first pitch quickly became a hot topic online as well. Reactions continued as it rose to the top of the real-time trends on X (formerly Twitter). During the dance time in the middle of the game, he performed an 'angtal challenge' alongside the team mascot to the title track 'OVERDRIVE' from TWS's 4th mini album.
KYUNGMIN revealed that he has been a fan cheering for the Kiwoom Heroes since his childhood. On Weverse on September 28, following the announcement of the ceremonial pitcher, he wrote, "This is something I've dreamed of since 10 years ago, and my heart feels really strange. I used to watch from behind the bullpen every day how the baseball players practice," and "I will practice hard to show you a cool side of myself." On the morning of the 8th, through his agency PLEDIS Entertainment, he stated, "It was meaningful to personally throw the first pitch at a game of the team I have cheered for since I was young. With the good energy I received from this pitch, I will strive to show an even better side of myself in the future. As a fan of the Kiwoom Heroes, I will cheer hard for the players."
Meanwhile, TWS, to which KYUNGMIN belongs, will make a comeback on November 2 with their 2nd single 'TO US'. TWS previously recorded first-week million-seller status with their domestic predecessor 'NO TRAGEDY' and sold out all seats, including restricted view seats, at the KSPO DOME in June.
