From Behind the Camera to the Stage… DPR IAN Expands Global Presence with All-Rounder Production Skills
DPR IAN, who once captured others through a camera lens, has established himself as a solo artist who directs his own music videos and performs on stage. He is set to perform at D AWARDS 2027 in PARIS next January.
DPR IAN, who used to capture others from behind the stage and beyond the camera lens, is now standing on stage himself, singing his own stories. A former member of the group C-Clown, he has established himself as a solo artist after working as a music video director.
In the music video for the single "THE SHOW" released in April, he personally took charge of the entire production process, including directing, general producing, editing, visual effects (VFX), and color grading. During the theater location shoot in Los Angeles, USA, he personally planned everything from the dancers' movements to the camera angles, while appearing in the video himself and leading the performances of the accompanying actors and dancers.
His way of working stems from his experience as a visual director. Having solidified his position as a director by co-founding the creative collective DPR, he garnered attention both inside and outside of K-pop early on through works such as Bobby's "Drunk" and Song Min-ho's "BODY".
After making his solo debut with "So Beautiful" in 2020, he began to fully implement a method of designing the musical and visual narratives together from the planning stage. While building a character universe that reflects his inner self, such as "MITO", "Mr. Insanity", and "The Hybrid", he maintained the direction of "telling my honest inner story."
His albums have appeared on the "Billboard 200", the main album chart in the United States, and he has successfully completed large-scale world tours and major festivals such as Coachella. DPR IAN will take the stage at "D AWARDS 2027 in PARIS" to be held at the Plenitude Arena in Paris, France, on January 15–16 next year.
