Yoon Heung-gwan Appointed as New CEO of WAY BETTER… Leaping Toward Global Entertainment
Comprehensive entertainment label WAY BETTER has appointed Yoon Heung-gwan as its new CEO, transitioning to a professional management system.
Comprehensive entertainment label WAY BETTER is embarking on a second leap forward by welcoming new management. On September 17, WAY BETTER appointed Yoon Heung-gwan as the new CEO and formalized the transition to a professional management system. The existing co-CEOs, from20 and HELLO GLOOM, will move to positions as General Director and General Producer, respectively, to focus on strengthening production capabilities.
WAY BETTER stated that they expect a powerful synergy to be created by combining the global business know-how held by CEO Yoon Heung-gwan with the original creativity of the existing management. CEO Yoon is a veteran with 24 years of experience, having joined DSP Entertainment in 2002 and served as General Director of management, production, and overseas performance divisions. In particular, he successfully led Kara's entry into Japan and their arena tours, and in 2013, he served as the general performance director for the first solo concert by a Korean female artist at the Tokyo Dome, ‘KARASIA 2013 Happy New Year in Tokyo Dome’, which recorded a sell-out of all seats.
CEO Yoon, who until recently led the launch of a global rookie girl group as the Vice President of a large entertainment company, expressed his determination in his inauguration remarks to mobilize all the management know-how and overseas performance infrastructure he has accumulated. He emphasized that he will actively support the affiliated artists so they can showcase their capabilities on stages worldwide, and that the company will be reborn as a global entertainment company where the company and artists grow together.
Meanwhile, with this management system reorganization as a starting point, WAY BETTER plans to significantly expand the global activities and overseas tours of its affiliated artists, including from20, HELLO GLOOM, LIM SEJUN, KANG YUCHAN, and DJ/producer YYJ. In addition, the company plans to strengthen its market competitiveness by accelerating the development of next-generation global IP.
