The promotion story of the White Porcelain Museum's intern, Hoya! The cat docent... 'Ho-intern'

TV Animal Farm: Yanggu White Porcelain Museum cat docent Hoya ranks 1st in his time slot during his full-time promotion ceremony

Salary is one bag of food and 30 Churu treats... 'Ho-intern' Hoya's promotion to full-time employee

On SBS 'TV Animal Farm', the daily life of Hoya, a cat staying at the White Porcelain Museum in Yanggu, was revealed. This broadcast recorded 4.2% viewership and a peak viewership of 4.7%, ranking 1st in its time slot (based on Nielsen Korea metropolitan area households).

Hoya, who is in his third year of museum experience, is called 'Ho-intern' by the staff and spends his days moving between the experience center, exhibition hall, and workshop. At the museum preparing for opening, after the staff's morning meeting ended, one staff member called "Ho-intern," and soon the cat Hoya appeared.

Hoya's work began at the experience center that day; in the classroom where white porcelain making experiences were held, Hoya stayed by curator Jang Deok-jin's side and was with the children. When clay dough was placed on the desk, he approached closely to watch the process, and children even decorated ceramics using Hoya's paw prints. There were even young visitors who returned to the museum specifically to see Hoya.

Hoya also mingled naturally with visitors. He accepted petting and even followed visitors into the exhibition hall. Inside the exhibition hall, he was seen stopping in front of major works. The staff treated Hoya like the youngest employee of the museum, and Hoya also moved around various parts of the museum familiarly.

However, Hoya is not always a model 'intern.' Leaving the experience center, Hoya headed to the ceramic firing workshop and surprised the staff by entering a kiln. When Hoya emerged a moment later, his entire body was covered in black soot. Curator Jang immediately took action by cleaning Hoya with wet wipes, and Hoya's unexpected behavior drew laughter.

Director Jeong stated that before Hoya, there was a stray cat named 'Go Yeong-hui' that the museum staff cared for. The staff had accepted Go Yeong-hui, who had nowhere to go, as a member of the museum family by caring for her together, but they said that after the parting, caring for cats again was not easy. Then one day, the staff met the cheese-colored cat Hoya in the parking lot. Although they thought he would leave, he naturally entered the museum the next day, starting a new connection.

Even after work ended, Hoya stayed by the side of curator Jang Deok-jin, who makes ceramics in the workshop. While curator Jang worked on the pottery wheel, Hoya watched from beside him and even left his own traces by touching the clay with his paws to create works. Curator Jang shared that having Hoya by her side when working alone late at night is reassuring and lessens the loneliness.

And finally, Hoya's full-time promotion ceremony was held. Director Jeong Du-seop announced the promotion to full-time status, stating that Hoya has played various roles at the museum. The contract period is "from today until the day he lives healthily for a long, long time," and the salary is one bag of food and 30 Churu treats. Hoya became a member of the White Porcelain Museum family by being promoted to a full-time employee, becoming 'Employee Ho' after leaving a paw print and even receiving an employee ID card.

Meanwhile, in this broadcast, EXO CHANYEOL made headlines by making a surprise appearance as the voice of Hui, the younger sibling of the panda sisters. SBS 'TV Animal Farm' airs every Sunday at 9:30 AM.
