Comprehensive media content group Mobidays is expanding its film import and distribution business by bringing the French 'De Gaulle' duology, which drew 5.81 million viewers in France, to Korean theaters this November.
Comprehensive media content group Mobidays (CEO Yoo Beom-ryeong, KOSDAQ 363260) is expanding its film import and distribution business.
'De Gaulle: The Beginning of the Resistance', an official selection in the non-competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, and its successor 'De Gaulle 2: The Age of Freedom', have confirmed their domestic release in Korea this November, backed by the choice of 5.81 million viewers in France.
Directed by: Antonin Baudry; Starring: Simon Abkarian, Simon Russell Beale, Niels Schneider, Anamaria Vartolomei; Import/Distribution: Mobidays; Release: November 2026
The 'De Gaulle' duology is a war film that depicts the journey of the unknown general Charles de Gaulle, who had no army or government during World War II, as he declares resistance in the name of France and ultimately embarks on a fight to reclaim Paris.
The first film, 'De Gaulle: The Beginning of the Resistance', portrays the fight that began when De Gaulle left his surrendered homeland for London and appealed for resistance in front of a radio microphone. The following 'De Gaulle 2: The Age of Freedom' captures De Gaulle's journey as he enters the final showdown for the fate of the nation, based on soldiers in the desert and the Resistance in the underground of Paris, despite the coldness of the United States and pressure from the United Kingdom.
The box office performance in its home country, France, is also notable. After being released consecutively in France this June, the two works continued a long-term run, attracting a total of 5.81 million viewers for the duology, and were named among the most-watched French films of the summer of 2026.
Mobidays will handle the domestic provision, import, and distribution. Following its first step into the film business through the co-provision of 'Sentimental Value', the winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival this February, Mobidays is expanding its film content business by directly importing and distributing this 'De Gaulle' duology.
Mobidays also plans to strengthen its film industry network and its foundation for discovering new works. On October 9, during the Busan International Film Festival period, the company will hold the film industry networking event 'Mobidays Night' in the Haeundae area of Busan, and plans to expand opportunities for future work sourcing and content collaboration by interacting with major domestic distributors, importers, and film-related creators.
Mobidays expressed high expectations, stating that they are excited to present the quality and scale of the 'De Gaulle' duology, which was first chosen by French audiences, to domestic audiences. They also stated plans to continuously discover competitive works through domestic and international film festivals and content markets, and to integrate the digital marketing capabilities held by Mobidays into the film business.
'De Gaulle: The Beginning of the Resistance' and 'De Gaulle 2: The Age of Freedom' are scheduled to meet audiences in theaters nationwide this November.
