Ong Seong-wu visited the Busan International Film Festival for the first time in 9 years since his debut with Wanna One.
He walked the opening ceremony red carpet for the film 'The Jeong Family', which was invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today - Special Premiere' section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
He also attended an open talk and a Guest Visit (GV) to share stories about the work and his character.
In 'The Jeong Family', Ong Seong-wu plays the role of Kang Jeong-hun, a new veterinarian in Hoengsan County.
During the open talk, he introduced Kang Jeong-hun as the character who connects the audience with the work. He said, "Kang Jeong-hun is the only outsider in the work, the person who comes to the village and meets the people for the first time. I believe that through the perspective of Kang Jeong-hun, where everything is new, the audience will be able to feel vivid emotions."
During the GV, he also shared his impressions of when he first read the script. Expressing his affection, he said, "I tend to like works that have a strong scent when I read the text, and this work particularly draws me in because it has a scent of earth and warmth."
'The Jeong Family' tells the story of brothers Man-su and Byeong-su, who have lived for 30 years without exchanging a single word, joining forces to protect the calf 'Jang-su' amidst a village crisis. Since debuting with Wanna One in 2017, Ong Seong-wu has expanded his career as an actor, and with this work, he participated in an official schedule at the Busan International Film Festival for the first time. 'The Jeong Family' will be released on December 2.
