'Sinner', starring Jung Sung-il and Park Ji-hyun, to have World Premiere at 31st Busan International Film Festival

The film 'Sinner', starring actors Jung Sung-il and Park Ji-hyun, has been officially invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today - Panorama' section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival. According to media reports, Jung Sung-il, Park Ji-hyun, and director Hong Seong-min are scheduled to attend the opening ceremony red carpet event on October 6 to grace the occasion.

This film depicts the process in which Seok-gyu, a candidate for Minister of Justice, belatedly discovers a letter sent in 1997 by Sun-hwa, the last death row inmate, and faces the truth he had been avoiding. Critic Song Gyeong-won commented on the work, stating, "At the moment when Sun-hwa's unjust past and the present conscience faced by prosecutor Seok-gyu intersect, the audience gets an opportunity to reflect on the values they easily forgot or let slip by," and explained, "It is a film that conveys, along with tears, that while we cannot turn back the past, we can feel shame."

'Sinner' will be revealed for the first time as a world premiere through this film festival. Starting with the opening ceremony red carpet on October 6, Guest Visits (GV) will be held on the 7th and 8th at LOTTE CINEMA Centum City Theater 4, and an outdoor stage greeting will be held at the Busan Cinema Center Roof Theater on the afternoon of the 8th. While reservations for the screening have already begun, the two scheduled GV sessions have recorded sold-out status for all seats, proving high interest.

Jung Sung-il, Park Ji-hyun, and director Hong Seong-min plan to directly share stories about the work through various schedules such as GVs and outdoor stage greetings. After its first showing at this Busan International Film Festival, the film 'Sinner' is scheduled to be officially released in Korea.
