YG Entertainment is holding the pop-up event ‘Project Your Side’ to reduce the gap in cultural accessibility at Gunsan Hoegwan in Naun-dong, Gunsan, Jeonbuk, from the 2nd to the 5th. The event was prepared to share regional areas with pop culture content experiences.
This event is being held for the sixth time, following its start in Wanju in 2022 and subsequent events in Gyeongsan, Chungju, Wonju, and Jinju. In the exhibition space, one can see YG artists' albums and goods from various eras, as well as stage outfits actually worn by BabyMonster and TREASURE on stage.
According to YG Entertainment, the experience programs include content incorporating AI technology and making lightsticks using media art. A dance one-day class with professional dancers will also be operated.
After the main pop-up ends, some of the major content will be permanently exhibited at the Gunsan old downtown complex cultural space ‘Gunsan Port 1981’ from the 8th to the 31st.
Starting with the ‘YG WITH Campaign’ in 2009, YG Entertainment has continued social contribution projects such as donations and volunteer activities. ‘Project Your Side’ was planned to share pop culture content experiences and opportunities, which are concentrated in the capital area, with regional areas and to increase cultural accessibility. YG Entertainment received the ‘Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award for Meritorious Service in Promoting Cultural Cities’ in 2023.
