Hwaseong City Korean Traditional Music Orchestra Lobby Concert III at Seohaerang Jebudo Marine Cable Car Jeongok Port Station Stops Tourists in Their Tracks

The Hwaseong City Cultural Foundation (CEO Ahn Pil-yeon) successfully completed the Hwaseong City Korean Traditional Music Orchestra Lobby Concert III at the 2nd-floor lobby of the Seohaerang Jebudo Marine Cable Car Jeongok Port station at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 19.

This performance was the third stage of the Hwaseong City Korean Traditional Music Orchestra Lobby Concert, which has been presenting Korean traditional music close to the daily lives of citizens. Moving beyond performance halls, it met citizens and tourists at Seohaerang, a representative tourism space in Hwaseong.

Based on the charm of traditional Korean music, the Hwaseong City Korean Traditional Music Orchestra presented a diverse program that anyone could easily and comfortably enjoy. In particular, by holding the performance in the open lobby space of Seohaerang, it allowed citizens and tourists using the cable car or visiting Jeongok Port to naturally stop their steps and enjoy our music.

This performance added meaning in that it provided a stage where one could encounter Korean traditional music during daily life while enjoying tourism and leisure, without having to seek out a separate performance hall.

Kim Hyeon-seop, artistic director of the Hwaseong City Korean Traditional Music Orchestra, said, “We intend to let our music be heard in various spaces where citizens stay, going beyond performance halls,” and added, “We will continue to provide stages where citizens can naturally encounter Korean traditional music in their daily lives.”

The Hwaseong City Cultural Foundation plans to continuously expand the performance stages of the Hwaseong City Arts Company so that citizens can encounter culture and arts in various spaces in their daily lives.
