GTGO, a food tech company that changed its name from GOPIZZA, has been finally selected as a recipient of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Global TIPS' project. With this selection, GTGO will join forces with XYZ, a company specializing in robots and AI, to develop F&B stores that operate unmanned 24 hours a day.

The core of this project lies in combining the pizza cooking solution that GTGO has applied in various sites with XYZ's unmanned coffee solution 'BARIS' and the semi-humanoid robot 'DEUX'. The goal is to automate the entire store operation process, including cooking, packaging, transporting, and delivery, without human intervention.

GTGO has previously created a model that allows for cooking and sales without a separate professional kitchen or skilled personnel by integrating pizza solutions into various spaces such as convenience stores, movie theaters, and PC rooms. Through this project, the company plans to expand its scope to include other F&B items including coffee and advance into fully unmanned stores by automating even the packaging and delivery tasks previously handled by humans.

GTGO stated that it plans to not limit this model to the domestic market but to verify and commercialize it overseas using its network already established in 11 countries. The strategy is to expand its business area toward presenting the method of making and selling food itself as a single solution, beyond just selling store equipment, and the success or failure of this attempt to actually transplant domestic technology into overseas store operation methods is drawing attention.

Lim Jae-won, CEO of GTGO, said, "GOPIZZA has created solutions that connect food and stores so that anyone can sell pizza even in spaces where it was previously difficult to sell pizza, such as convenience stores, movie theaters, and PC rooms. This time, we intend to further advance our already proven solutions by combining them with XYZ's robots and Physical AI technology, and implement fully automated store operations by expanding from pizza to coffee and various F&B products." He added, "As we are already operating businesses in 11 countries, our greatest strength is that we can apply and expand the model being created in the global market immediately, rather than just verifying it in Korea. We will create a new success story where F&B and robot technology developed in Korea actually changes the way overseas stores operate."

Hwang Seong-jae, CEO of XYZ, also said, "As the unmanned coffee technology commercialized through BARIS is combined with GTGO's global F&B operation experience, we expect to create a case where Physical AI changes the actual store operation and economic feasibility. We will implement an unmanned F&B operation model that can be used immediately in the field."

The two companies plan to first build the unmanned F&B store model in Korea and then expand the scope of application to markets where GTGO has already entered, such as Singapore and India. A GTGO official stated, "This project will serve as an opportunity for GTGO to evolve beyond a company that sells pizza into a food tech solution company that provides ways to sell food. Starting from pizza, we will continue to expand our business to various F&B products and the global market."
