iKON's BOBBY plans solo R&B activities following military discharge
iKON member BOBBY expressed his intention to focus on solo music, including R&B, following his military discharge, while noting that the group will reunite as six members when everyone has completed their service.
Following his discharge, iKON member BOBBY announced plans to release a solo R&B album, noting that the group will wait until all six members have completed their military service before making a comeback.
iKON member BOBBY mentioned his experiences with colleagues currently serving in the military during an interview video posted to his social media after his discharge. "Since I went to the military quite late, I had a lot of contact with younger people," he said, adding, "I thought it might be interesting to melt those experiences into my lyrics."
Regarding iKON's comeback plans, BOBBY stated that "two members have gone to the military." He shared his position that rather than making a comeback with four members, the group should spend time doing what they like in their respective positions and then make a comeback once all six members are gathered.
Of the six iKON members, Kim Jin-hwan, Jung Chan-woo, BOBBY, and SONG have completed their military service, while Kim Dong-hyuk and JU-NE are currently serving as active-duty soldiers in the Army. BOBBY expressed plans to release a solo album, saying, "I think it would be interesting if I prepared something more R&B-style."
He also shared his thoughts on the Korean hip-hop community, noting that it shows a large fan base and active movement compared to the past, stating, "I feel that many crews have increased and large communities have been formed."
