Three TWICE members depart JYP Entertainment as others discuss renewals
Three members of the group TWICE have left JYP Entertainment to pursue individual paths, while the remaining five members are currently in discussions regarding contract renewals.
JEONGYEON, CHAEYOUNG, and JIHYO have left JYP Entertainment to pursue individual paths, while NAYEON, MOMO, Sana, Mina, and DAHYUN are currently negotiating contract renewals to continue group activities.
Members of the group TWICE—JEONGYEON, CHAEYOUNG, and JIHYO—have departed JYP Entertainment one after another. JEONGYEON has signed an exclusive contract with VARO Entertainment and will make her screen debut in the movie "New Recruit the Movie: A Ghost Lives in the Military Hospital," which is set to be released on December 30. CHAEYOUNG has established the independent label "LIL FANTASY," and JIHYO established "EMITHAUS" on October 21.
NAYEON, MOMO, Sana, Mina, and DAHYUN are currently discussing contract renewals with JYP Entertainment. Following rumors in July regarding the failure of TZUYU's contract renewal, JYP Entertainment stated, "TWICE is in a period of contract renewal discussions, and we intend to provide guidance as soon as the matter is finalized." The members who have departed expressed their intention to continue group activities "separately but together."
Individual activities for the members will also continue. NAYEON will begin solo activities with the new single "NA-sty" on November 20, and Sana has been selected as the lead in the Korea-Japan co-production film "Kitty: May I Reach Your World." DAHYUN has taken the lead role in the movie "Cloud Is a Cloud," which is scheduled to be released in 2027.
