Swiss sportswear brand On has released its second co-produced footwear and apparel collection with actress Zendaya. Stylist Law Roach, a long-time collaborator of Zendaya, also participated in this project.
On explained that this collection stemmed from a shared philosophy regarding the naturalness of movement and comfort. They also emphasized that the collection was designed to combine performance and style, allowing individuals to express their personality in daily life. Within the industry, this is interpreted as an attempt by the brand to expand its reach into the fashion realm while maintaining its functional image.
The released campaign consists of cinematic videos inspired by classic action movies. The directing was handled by the three-member director group Pantera from Argentina, and photographer Cass Bird shot the pictorial. In the videos and pictorial, Zendaya performed various movements, showcasing the silhouettes and details of the items.
This collection includes oversized crewnecks, sweatpants, bodysuits, slim-fit long-sleeve tops, and half-zip anoraks. Shirring, bungee cord details, and python prints were applied, and the Cloudnova Moon Mary Jane, which reinterprets the Cloudnova Moon—the first collaboration product—in a Mary Jane style, was also newly introduced. There are three colors: Clove/Ivory, Dew/Antler, and Black/Ivory.
Zendaya said she enjoyed the process of interpreting the python print as a modern camouflage pattern. Law Roach stated that he infused functional materials with a love for personality and prints. Alex Griffin, Head of Global Marketing at On, said that cinematic storytelling was a key element in the partnership with Zendaya. As On focuses on campaigns that prioritize narrative and atmosphere over traditional advertising formats, future collaborations are likely to continue in a way that combines fashion and cinematic direction.
