Bed Cinema on the 4th Floor of Hongdae RYSE, Hotel, 5,000 Won Discount until October 31
RNR's premium cinema brand MONOPLEX has renovated 'MONOPLEX at RYSE' into 'Best Sleep Cinema at RYSE' in collaboration with mattress brand Best Sleep, featuring motion beds for a comfortable viewing experience. To celebrate the renewal, a 5,000 won discount is available via the MONOPLEX app until October 31, along with a 20% discount at the adjacent CHARR restaurant.
RNR's premium cinema brand MONOPLEX has partnered with the mattress specialist brand Best Sleep to renovate 'MONOPLEX at RYSE' within the RYSE, Autograph Collection in Hongdae, Seoul, into 'Best Sleep Cinema at RYSE,' which reopened on the 3rd. Instead of the existing 30 seats, the number of seats has been reduced to 12, and motion beds have been applied to all seats to present a theater where audiences can watch movies while lying in bed.
'MONOPLEX at RYSE' is a private theater that opened on the 4th floor of the RYSE, Autograph Collection in November 2024. Through this renewal, the number of seats was reduced while significantly increasing the occupancy area per person, elevating it to a premium theater.
The biggest change is the seating. The existing general seats were removed and replaced with Best Sleep motion beds, allowing audiences to directly adjust the backrest and leg angles to their desired posture while watching movies.
Large intervals between seats were also secured to realize an independent viewing environment. In particular, considering the characteristics of motion beds, which differ in structure from general cinema seats, the screen viewing angle was precisely redesigned to adjust the screening environment so that the screen is naturally visible even in a reclined position.
This space was completed through a collaboration between the mattress specialist brand Best Sleep and the cinema brand MONOPLEX. Best Sleep supplied motion beds incorporating its sleep technology, as well as sofas, diffusers, and bedding sprays, while MONOPLEX took charge of the cinema design and screening operation/programming. It is explained that by combining this with the spatial characteristics of the RYSE, Autograph Collection, a viewing experience differentiated from existing cinemas is being proposed.
The F&B connection is also notable. In collaboration with the restaurant CHARR located right next to it on the same floor (4F), a menu that can be enjoyed along with movies has been composed and is being sold online and offline.
MONOPLEX CEO Seok Min-cheol said, "Through the motion beds, we hope audiences can enjoy movies in their most comfortable posture and feel a viewing experience different from existing cinemas. We plan to operate this space in various ways, such as private events in addition to movie screenings, and we plan to expand new types of space-based cinema models by applying the characteristics of various brands, including hotels, to the cinema in the future."
'Best Sleep Cinema at RYSE' is located on the 4th floor of 130 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and reservations can be made through the MONOPLEX app and website. To celebrate the renewal opening, a 5,000 won discount on all ticket types will be applied if reserved through the MONOPLEX app until October 31. Additionally, moviegoers are provided with a constant 20% discount at the adjacent CHARR restaurant on the day of viewing (available during CHARR operating hours).
