MovieLAB Officially Launches with 7-Day Free Trial; Watch Independent and Art Films for 9,900 Won per Month
MovieLAB Co., Ltd. has officially launched "MovieLAB," a film lifestyle platform that connects streaming, curation, articles, goods, and offline spaces, offering a 7-day free trial.
MovieLAB Co., Ltd. announced that it officially launched "MovieLAB," a film lifestyle platform that connects film streaming, curation, articles, film goods, and offline spaces, on October 1, and is starting a 7-day free trial.
Under the direction of "All ways of loving movies in one place," MovieLAB connects the experience from the moment one discovers and watches a film to reading, recording, and possessing that work. It aims to be a next-generation OTT that encompasses activities before and after viewing by structuring it so that interest discovered online leads to visits to movie theaters and film-related spaces.
The "MOVIE" section, the film viewing area, introduces films that can broaden tastes, focusing on art films, independent films, classics, and works by domestic and international directors. Users can choose their next film through collections grouped by director or theme, and can suggest works they want to see through the "Request Screening" function.
MovieLAB plans to introduce films and reasons for recommendation selected directly by curators and creators active in various fields such as film and music. Participants will convey viewing points and personal experiences through writing, and users can discover new films by following the tastes of creators they are interested in. MovieLAB plans to expand the participating curators sequentially.
In "LAB," which provides film articles, users can examine the directing and background of films, as well as the work of directors and actors, through "Work Anatomy," "Character Archive," and "Cinema Chronicle." Users can choose a film after reading an article first, or return to related articles after watching to understand the work more deeply. Users can record their life movies and impressions in "MY" and the community, and share tastes through the records of other users.
"SHOP" is a space to possess the lingering emotions of a film. It showcases products related to films, such as film posters, OST vinyls and CDs, Blu-rays, film books and scenario books, clothing, and objects. Users can extend their viewing experience into daily life, such as keeping a favorite scene as a poster or listening to a film's music again via records. Products can be purchased separately from the film viewing membership, and annual membership members are provided with up to 20% discount on SHOP products, while monthly membership members receive up to 10% discount.
In "SPACE," it introduces spaces where films exist, such as independent and art film theaters, film-related bookstores, goods shops, and cafes/bars across the country. Users can find places to visit according to region and space type. Additionally, through partnerships with independent and art film theaters, discount benefits for viewing will be provided, and the plan is to gradually expand the partnered theaters.
MovieLAB is available on the official website and via iOS and Android apps. The film viewing membership is 9,900 won per month or 99,000 won per year, and LAB articles can be read without a paid subscription. The targets and usage conditions for the 7-day free trial starting with the official launch will be guided on the official website.
MovieLAB is a film lifestyle platform operated by MovieLAB Co., Ltd. Based on "ALL OF CINEMA, IN ONE PLACE," it connects carefully selected films, curator recommendations, film articles and viewing records, goods, and offline spaces.
