BIGBANG's T.O.P apologizes for the closure of long-running fan site

T.O.P issued a social media apology on the 1st following the termination of CHOIDOT, a fan site established in August 2006 that announced its closure last month due to a lack of communication and responsibility.

T.O.P (Seung-Hyun Choi), a member of the group BIGBANG, posted a lengthy message on social media on the 1st to personally apologize regarding the termination of the 20-year-old fan site CHOIDOT. This comes approximately three weeks after the site's management announced they would be closing the site.

In his post, T.O.P stated, "I offer my sincere apologies to the CHOIDOT management and the fans who were misunderstood and hurt because of me." He expressed gratitude, noting, "Even in moments when I myself found it difficult to believe in myself, you believed in just one person," and explained that it took time to release a statement because he felt he needed to be cautious with every word. He added that he hopes the time and effort of the management will not be overshadowed by misunderstandings and speculation.

CHOIDOT, which was established in August 2006, announced the end of its operations on the 9th of last month, criticizing the attitude of "please lay down the arrogance that fans will move on their own." The management cited a lack of communication and evasion of responsibility, pointing out that practical tasks ranging from album promotion to responding to overseas fans had relied on the voluntary efforts of the fan site. His agency, TOPSPOT PICTURES, released an official statement on the 10th of last month to apologize and pledged to improve communication methods.

T.O.P is currently active following the release of his first solo studio album, ANOTHER DIMENSION, marking his 20th anniversary since debut. He recently officially acknowledged his relationship with singer and actress Nana.
