The SBS program "Unanswered Questions" will investigate the death of 28-year-old Im Jan-di, who suffered 514 assaults over 3 hours and 20 minutes before dying in a Gangseo-gu semi-basement on June 20. While her boyfriend, Mr. Jeon, claimed the violence was an accidental outburst, an autopsy revealed 21 fractured ribs and ruptured organs.

On the 24th, "Unanswered Questions" will delve into the hidden secrets behind the tragedy of a woman who died following 514 instances of assault over a period of 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Around 2:24 p.m. on June 20, an urgent call was placed to 119. A boyfriend reported that his girlfriend, with whom he was living, was unconscious and pleaded for help. Emergency responders rushed to a semi-basement residence in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, but unfortunately, the woman was already in cardiac arrest.

The deceased was 28-year-old Im Jan-di (pseudonym), who worked for an IT company. Her body was covered in bruises on her face, neck, and legs, and there were clear marks on her back from being struck multiple times with a blunt object. The investigation seeks to uncover what occurred inside the home where she was alone with her boyfriend that day.

When police arrived, the boyfriend, Mr. Jeon, who is four years younger than the victim, admitted to the assault. Jeon claimed the violence was an accidental outburst because he could not tolerate his girlfriend's lies. However, an autopsy revealed that 21 ribs were fractured and major organs were ruptured.

“This won't do. Get on your hands and knees!”
“Let's go to the threshold of death.”
— Mr. Jeon in homecam footage

Shocking footage captured by a homecam installed in the house shows the assault. The video records Jeon assaulting Im Jan-di 514 times using his fists, feet, and even a hammer during the 3 hours and 20 minutes before she collapsed. Jeon is seen ordering Im Jan-di to assume a prone position and committing various acts of cruelty.

Throughout the assault, Im Jan-di was unable to shout or call for help. The investigation questions why she could not escape through the front door, which was located only 1 meter away. While examining her phone, the production team discovered suspicious messages sent by Jeon:

“Can't you finish 'Guk-peu' today? There are no more chances. I will do it even more severely than last time, to a level you cannot handle.”

Upon accessing the victim's cloud account, the team found a document believed to have been written by Jeon titled "National Project." The document contains mysterious contents regarding a fictional country called "Tturi Country," including mentions of a legislature, judiciary, financial institutions, and computerization. The program will investigate the true nature of this "National Project" that ensnared the 28-year-old and ultimately led to her tragic death.

This week's SBS "Unanswered Questions" will air on Saturday the 24th at 11:10 p.m.
