Anna reveals Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis and inability to breastfeed

Anna announced on September 29 that she is unable to breastfeed following a Stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis that involved metastasis to the axillary lymph nodes. While the triple-negative cancer reached complete remission three years ago, she noted that she may require re-operation in approximately seven years.

On September 29, Anna uploaded a video to her YouTube channel ‘With ANNA’ titled "The breast cancer treatment process I experienced firsthand: From chemotherapy side effects to reconstructive surgery and radiation therapy." In the video, she cited searching the internet as her biggest regret following her diagnosis, advising others, "Do not try to find out on your own on the internet what type of breast cancer it is or what stage it is before receiving an accurate diagnosis."

She explained that at the time of diagnosis, she was determined to have Stage 3 breast cancer, which had metastasized to the axillary lymph nodes. "At that time, the lymph nodes had to be removed, and now there are almost no lymph nodes left," she said. The surgery did not involve a total mastectomy, as it was performed to maintain her physical appearance as much as possible, leaving only a small scar at the incision site.

Anna also revealed that she is now unable to breastfeed. "I can no longer breastfeed because the internal tissue no longer functions. It is because that part was removed," she stated. Mentioning the possibility of further surgery, she added, "Regardless of the type of breast surgery, it seems I will have to go back to the hospital for re-operation later. I heard I would have to do it again in 10 years, so that leaves about 7 years left."

This past August, Anna announced she was pregnant with her fourth child, stating that her current health condition is good and that she received confirmation from her doctor that pregnancy is possible after sufficient consultation. She noted that it has been three years since her triple-negative breast cancer reached complete remission, and she continues to undergo regular checkups.

Anna married Switzerland native Park Joo-ho in 2015, and they have a daughter, Na-eun, and two sons, Geon-hu and Jin-woo. She is currently pregnant with her fourth child.
