BTS Records 141.4 Billion Won in July Tour Revenue, Ranking 2nd on Billboard Top Tours
BTS ranked second on Billboard's top tour chart for July, earning $102.5 million from their 'BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG' with only eight performances.
BTS has made a name for itself in the upper ranks of the US Billboard Boxscore.
According to the latest Boxscore announced by Billboard on the 28th (local time), BTS ranked 2nd on the top tour chart, recording $102.5 million (approximately 141.4 billion KRW) in revenue from the July 'BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG'. The 1st place went to The Weeknd, who earned $124.4 million (approximately 171.6 billion KRW). While The Weeknd held 16 performances during the month of July, BTS achieved nearly similar revenue with only half that amount, at 8 performances. Billboard explained that BTS is the third artist in history to surpass $100 million in monthly revenue, following Beyoncé and Bad Bunny.
All performances held in July ranked within the top 10 of the top Boxscore. The Paris Stade de France performance ranked 3rd, while the London Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Munich Allianz Arena, and Brussels King Baudouin Stadium performances were positioned between 5th and 7th. The Paris performance drew 185,000 spectators, generating $30.6 million (approximately 42.2 billion KRW) in ticket revenue.
According to Billboard analysis, BTS has earned $433.2 million (approximately 599.8 billion KRW) in revenue and sold 2.3 million tickets through 38 performances as of August 11. This figure surpasses the team's previous record of $213.9 million (approximately 295.2 billion KRW) from 'BTS WORLD TOUR LOVE YOURSELF'. The ongoing tour is scheduled to continue until the first half of next year.
Meanwhile, the 5th studio album 'ARIRANG' has maintained its position in the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100 (for the week of August 28 to September 3) at 92nd place for its 23rd week. On the Spotify Weekly Top Albums Global (counted from August 21 to 27), it has maintained a top 3 position for 5 months at 2nd place, and the title track 'SWIM' has remained in the Weekly Top Songs Global top 10 for 23 consecutive weeks.
