The Hwaseong City Cultural Foundation (Chairperson Jeong Myeong-geun) announced that it successfully concluded the Hwaseong City Orchestra's planned performance series "Classical Music Comes to You," which took place at the Wangbae Green Forest Library on October 8.

"Classical Music Comes to You" is a performance series by the Hwaseong City Orchestra that moves beyond concert halls to present classical music closer to the daily lives of citizens. By using spaces that citizens use routinely, such as libraries, welfare facilities, and public offices, as stages, the series increases accessibility to classical music and expands opportunities to enjoy culture and arts in daily life.

This performance featured various chamber music configurations, including a woodwind quintet, a string quartet, and even a nonet where the two ensembles combined. The program was designed so that the unique timbre of each instrument and the harmony of the ensemble could be appreciated up close, showcasing the diverse charms of classical music, from the delicate expressions unique to small ensembles to the rich and three-dimensional resonance of the nonet.

The main repertoire included "Autumn" from Astor Piazzolla's "The Four Seasons" and Tchaikovsky's "Andante cantabile." From Piazzolla's work, which features the intense rhythms and lyrical melodies unique to tango, to the warm and flowing melody of "Andante cantabile," the performance provided the audience with a rich time of appreciation through works with different musical colors.

In particular, this performance added meaning by utilizing the library, where citizens enjoy reading and leisure, as a stage for classical music. In a space usually occupied by books, it allowed citizens to experience the vivid breathing of the performers and the natural sounds of the instruments up close, providing a special cultural and artistic experience in their daily lives.

Lim Dong-guk, music director of the Hwaseong City Orchestra, stated, "It is meaningful to be able to share classical music with citizens in a familiar space like a library. We will continue to strive so that citizens can enjoy classical music even more closely through repertoires and performance configurations suited to the characteristics of various spaces."

The Hwaseong City Cultural Foundation plans to continue expanding the performance stages of the Hwaseong City Arts Company into the living spheres of citizens and will continuously broaden opportunities to enjoy culture and arts in daily life through performances that consider the characteristics of various locations and audiences.
