During the November 2 broadcast of 'Love War', singer Lee Hyo-ri revealed she visits a psychiatry clinic for regular check-ups while advising a couple struggling with alcohol addiction to seek medical help or break up.
Singer Lee Hyo-ri revealed that she receives regular psychiatric treatment. During the broadcast of the entertainment program 'Love War' on November 2, Lee offered advice based on her own experiences after hearing the story of a couple struggling with alcohol issues. "I hope they go to the hospital together. I also go to the psychiatry clinic. Even though it doesn't cause major disruptions to my daily life, I go once in a while just like getting a health check-up," Lee said.
According to media reports, the boyfriend in the story drank six days a week, consuming four PET bottles of soju during each session. When intoxicated, he would lose his reason and become violent. The girlfriend reportedly engaged in excessive physical contact at all times, demanded to smell his body odor, and used abusive language when drinking. She also showed a contradictory side by encouraging him to drink despite being worried about his health.
"Are you offering alcohol to a sick person?" Lee questioned, pointing out, "It doesn't seem like the woman truly likes and cares for the man." She continued, "It is close to an obsession, like 'I want to make them mine' or 'I want to possess them.' It seems they are not letting the other person be comfortable as they are, but are simply trying to possess them." Consequently, she advised them to either meet different people or take a break from dating.
Lee noted that before they met, the couple exercised and worked hard in the catering industry, but they are now in a state where they are so soaked in alcohol that it is difficult even to go outside. "Since being together isn't making things better, I can only think of it as a bad relationship. I really hope they break up," she said. Finally, she urged, "Don't live saying 'I have no problems,' but instead, I hope you doubt and check whether you might be an alcoholic."
