LIGHTSUM to release Japanese digital single 'メリキス' on November 6
The group LIGHTSUM is set to release their Japanese digital single 'メリキス' on November 6, marking their second Japanese release following their debut album 'Re:Idol' in September.
Following the success of their September debut album 'Re:Idol', which reached number 4 on the Oricon daily album chart, LIGHTSUM will release the holiday-themed Japanese digital single 'メリキス' on November 6.
The group LIGHTSUM (SANGAH, CHOWON, NAYOUNG, HINA, JUHYEON, Yujeong) will release the Japanese digital single 'メリキス' on November 6. This comes just two months after the release of their Japanese debut album 'Re:Idol' this past September. A holiday season song with a year-end atmosphere, the revealed album cover features the members transformed into Christmas tree ornaments.
Yumika Kondo, who has participated in songwriting and composition for the 'Love Live!' animation series and numerous K-pop artists, handled the lyrics and composition. Producer pw.a, who created LIGHTSUM's Japanese original song 'どうして', also participated.
LIGHTSUM debuted in Japan with a "kawaii" concept and reached number 4 on the Oricon daily album chart with 'Re:Idol'. The title track 'どうして' recorded number 2 on the Japanese YouTube daily music video chart and number 27 on the weekly popular songs chart. The performance video for the Korean version 'Doshite KR ver.' on Mnet's 'M COUNTDOWN' on the 22nd surpassed 1 million views, while SNS views exceeded 10 million.
LIGHTSUM will meet local fans in Saitama on November 3 and in Aichi on November 7. On December 28, they will hold their first Japanese showcase at Spotify O-EAST in Tokyo.
