The Busan Film Commission is holding a workshop inviting agencies involved in filming cooperation on the 1st. The event is intended to enhance Busan's competitiveness in attracting filming and to solidify the cooperation system between agencies.
Approximately 40 officials from 21 agencies and facilities, including Busan Metropolitan City, various district and county offices, public institutions, major facilities, and local hospitals and hotels, will attend this workshop. Participants will tour the Busan Cinema Center, Busan Film Postproduction Facility, Busan Asian Film School, Korean Academy of Film Arts, the former Chungmu facilities, and Busan Film Studio to inspect the filming support sites. During the movement process, the Busan Film Commission's filming support projects and Busan Metropolitan City's video industry policies will also be introduced.
In the afternoon, director Kwak Kyung-taek will conduct a special lecture on the theme of "Busan, the Film City I Was Part Of." This will be followed by an exchange of opinions on cooperation measures for filming support among the cooperating agencies, where topics such as discovering filming locations, administrative support, and civil complaint response measures will be discussed. The competition to attract filming ultimately depends on the speed of on-site response and the level of coordination between agencies. This workshop is expected to serve as an opportunity to re-examine the production infrastructure Busan possesses and to expand the points of practical cooperation.
