Free Dance Parade at Geumcheon District Office Plaza on October 18, Open to All Without Application

The Geumcheon Cultural Foundation (Acting CEO Yoon Hee-su) announced that it will hold the citizen-participatory cultural arts event "2026 Anyangcheon Culture Week - Geumcheon, Dancing Anyangcheon" from 2 PM to 4 PM on October 18 at the Geumcheon Harmony Festival main stage, Geumcheon District Office Plaza, and the Anyangcheon Stream area.

"Anyangcheon Culture Week" is a regional cultural cooperation project that began in 2023. It is a citizen-participatory cultural arts event where seven cultural foundations of cities sharing the Anyangcheon Stream (Gwangmyeong, Guro, Gunpo, Geumcheon, Anyang, Yangcheon, and Yeongdeungpo) connect the festivals and cultural resources of each region, transcending administrative boundaries. This year, programs will be operated sequentially in each region from October 14 to 25, and in Geumcheon, "Geumcheon, Dancing Anyangcheon" will be presented on October 18.

The Geumcheon Cultural Foundation connects local daily life with dance through "Geumcheon, Dancing Anyangcheon" this year. In particular, in connection with the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's open call project "2026 Charming Seoul through Art," they will collect sounds from the daily lives of three regions together with the Guro and Yangcheon Cultural Foundations, and use the music created based on these sounds for the community dance parade.

In Geumcheon, sounds collected from sewing factories, Anyangcheon Stream, and Doksan Station have been reconstructed into music. By allowing familiar urban sounds to meet dance and movement to lead into a single performance, it allows the daily life of Geumcheon to be experienced in a new way.

7 Geumcheon dance teams in one place... Relay performances from 2 PM

From 2 PM to 3 PM, relay performances by individual teams, where one can meet the personalities and genres of 7 teams, will take place at the Geumcheon Harmony Festival main stage. Seven teams based in Geumcheon District, selected through an open call, will participate: △Musical Star △Empress Line △Jiranjigyo △Gllara Dance Company △Dream Girls △KCM Line Dance △ECLIPSE.

The participating teams prepared for this stage through a total of five creative movement and dance workshops with Dap Dance Project. Residents active in different genres such as musical dance, line dance, Korean dance, belly dance, and K-POP will showcase their respective dances and connect them into one parade.

3 PM 'Rhythm of the City' dance parade... From Geumcheon District Office Plaza to Anyangcheon Stream

From 3 PM to 4 PM on the same day, the "Rhythm of the City" community dance parade will proceed from the Geumcheon District Office Plaza to the Anyangcheon Stream area.

The 7 participating dance teams and Dap Dance Project will showcase dance and movement to music created using sounds collected from the daily life of Geumcheon. Starting from individual performances prepared by each team, it will lead into one collective parade, creating a scene where dances of different generations and genres meet within the urban space.

This event is operated in connection with the "2026 Geumcheon Harmony Festival," allowing residents visiting the festival grounds to watch various dance performances and enjoy the cultural arts programs leading to Anyangcheon Stream together.

In addition, the other six cities participating in the Anyangcheon Culture Week will operate programs reflecting the characteristics of each region during the "2026 Anyangcheon Culture Week" period.

Programs reflecting the characteristics of each region will be presented, such as: △Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation 'Connecting Waterfront' (October 14, Haja Center Hall 999) △Gwangmyeong Cultural Foundation 'Green Melody: Rhythm of Nature and Art' (October 18 and 24, Anyangcheon Stream area) △Guro Cultural Foundation 'Guro Music & Picnic' (October 24, Anyangcheon Water Playground) △Gunpo Cultural Foundation 'Pet+Festival' (October 24, Chomakgol Ecological Park) △Anyang Foundation for Culture and Arts 'Anyangcheon Cinema Picnic' (October 25, Roller Skating Rink under Chunghun 2 Bridge) △Yangcheon Cultural Foundation 'Rhythm of the City, Art of Daily Life' (October 25, Yangcheon Family Street Festival sub-stage), etc.

Performances presented in Geumcheon can be watched by any resident on-site without a separate application, and they can also participate by joining the parade.
