Asia's representative music business platform 'MU:CON 2026' will be held from Wednesday, September 2, to Friday, September 4, at the Sangam Cube Convention Center and Yongsan Children's Grand Park in Seoul. It is hosted and organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Chae Hwi-young) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (President Yunji), with SBS (President Bang Mun-shin) in charge of operations.
MU:CON is a music industry business market that introduces new K-Music to domestic and international music industry professionals and audiences through showcases of rising domestic artists, while also serving as a gathering place for various music-related industry stakeholders to explore new business and collaboration possibilities. This year, the event will run for three days, focusing on showcases, conferences, business matching, and networking, with 42 domestic artist teams and over 1,000 domestic and international music industry and related industry professionals expected to participate.
42-Team Showcase Linked with SBS Radio 'After Club'
In this year's showcase, 42 teams of rising domestic artists across various genres, including K-pop, bands, and singer-songwriters, will take the stage. In particular, this year's event is linked with SBS Radio 'After Club', and for the three days, 'After Club' DJs Yoon Deok-won, Cloud, Mirani, and Stella Jang will serve as showcase MCs. The main showcase stages will later be released through the 'After Club' 'MU:CON Special Broadcast', and on the final day of the event, September 4, a special showcase will be held at the Yongsan Children's Grand Park outdoor stage.
From Kim Jae Joong's Keynote to India Market Entry Strategies
The conferences will cover the present and expansion possibilities of K-Music. On the first day, September 2, Incode CEO Kim Jae Joong will deliver a keynote session on the theme 'From Superstar to K-Music New Ecosystem Architect', followed by sessions featuring SBS Radio Director Eun Ji-hyang, music critic Lim Hee-yoon, Studio JON CEO Nam Woo-ri, and Yonsei University Research Professor Cho Chae-young. On the second day, September 3, a panel talk titled 'The Next Growth Strategy for K-Music in India' will be held, featuring T-Series Vice President Puja Singh Guzral and Warner Music India Head Shika Bardwaj, with Universal Music Korea Director Cho Shin-young serving as the moderator. Additionally, an open session titled 'The Future of K-MUSIC Created by the Convergence of Music and Technology' will be held, featuring SM Universe CEO Jang Jae-won and Studio Real Live CEO Kim Jong Min.
Business Matching Connecting Platforms, Tech, Games, and Commerce
During the event, customized business matching based on the needs of participating companies and professionals, as well as dedicated business meeting spaces, will be operated, leading to discussions on collaboration among partners in various fields such as platforms, tech, games, content production, and commerce.
