KBS 1TV's "Korean Traditional Music Stage" will broadcast a special episode themed "Connections" on September 19, featuring various artists performing together.
In Gochang, the home of sound, special connections will gather in one place.
The KBS , which will be broadcast on KBS 1TV on September 19 (Sat) at 12:10 PM, takes the theme of "Connections," where artists of different genres meet through the center of Korean traditional music to present unique stages.
The first door of this stage will be opened by Park Ae-ri and Poppin Hyun Joon. As a married couple who have shared music and dance for a long time, they will present stages where sound and dance harmonize, starting with the Korean traditional song "You, Whom I Happened to Meet" and continuing through "Disheveled Hair" and "The Royal Inspector Appears." In particular, a special stage unique to the two will unfold through their reinterpretation of the highlights of Chunhyangga, as they become Chunhyang and Mongryong.
In the following stage, the special connection between singers Kim Tae-yeon and Eun Ga-eun can be met. Having maintained their connection from an audition program and becoming reliable older and younger sisters to each other, the two will fully bring out the charm of Korean traditional music and trot by singing "Moon Song" and "Gangwon-do Arirang" together. Kim Tae-yeon will showcase the charm of deepened sound by performing "Yak Seong-ga from Sugungga" with her teacher Nam Sang-il, while Eun Ga-eun, following her folk song stage with Kim Tae-yeon, will present her new song "All Eight Provinces," newly arranged for Korean Traditional Music Stage. "All Eight Provinces," which adds the accompaniment of the Nam Gi-mun Band and traditional Korean colors, will meet the audience with a different charm from the original song.
The final stage will be decorated by Korean traditional musician Nam Sang-il and singer Ahn Sung-hoon. The two, who have maintained a connection as older and younger brothers for a long time, will show special chemistry that transcends genres by singing "It's Good" together. Following this, Ahn Sung-hoon will present a sincere stage with "Mother Flower." In particular, the two will look back on their long connection and share heartfelt feelings for each other and stories about music. Ahn Sung-hoon and Nam Sang-il, who have shown steady interest in Korean traditional music, also express expectations for other Korean traditional music collaborations, such as Pansori Ipchechang, through this stage. Subsequently, Nam Sang-il and Ahn Sung-hoon will complete a unique stage with "Song of the Four Seasons + Broken Clock," which exquisitely weaves Pansori and pop songs.
At the end of the broadcast, an "Arirang Medley" featuring all performers will unfold. All performers, including Park Ae-ri and Poppin Hyun Joon, Nam Sang-il and Ahn Sung-hoon, and Eun Ga-eun and Kim Tae-yeon, will take the stage together to sing, decorating a meaningful finale where different connections are linked into one music.
A time when meeting precious people becomes music, and that music leads to new connections again. KBS will be broadcast on KBS 1TV on September 19 (Sat) at 12:10 PM.
