In the 4th episode of the SBS variety show "Master Hang-jun," which aired this past Thursday, Park Min-young and Yook Sung-jae—both stars of the new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama "Nine to Six"—appeared to participate in an audition for director Jang Hang-jun's next work, "My Grandmother is a Gumiho," sparking laughter.

The show, directed by Lee Dong-won and Gam Yu-min with writer Kim Myeong-jeong and co-produced by Content Lab VIVO, featured Jang Hang-jun expressing his ambition to become a "global master" by casting the two actors. Although Park Min-young appeared nervous, noting it had been almost 20 years since her last audition, she displayed unexpected variety skills by skillfully responding to Jang Hang-jun's unpredictable questions. Having stated she possesses a broad perspective, Park quickly analyzed Jang Hang-jun's personality, causing laughter by mimicking his expression and noting, "The director cools down very quickly when his jokes don't land."

Park, recognized as a "kiss scene expert," drew attention by sharing her professional secrets, stating, "You shouldn't press your lips" and adding, "The emotion has to go with it." Yook Sung-jae, who will work alongside her in "Nine to Six," teased anticipation for their romantic chemistry by revealing, "I actually wasn't good at filming kiss scenes, but thanks to Noona, I came out looking very cool in this drama."

Yook Sung-jae also displayed his unpredictable and sly charm. He shared anecdotes from his audition for the "School series," which served as a gateway for stars, and revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the "Angry Pterosaur meme" that went viral online. He confessed, "The set was a sea of tears during the scene where I had to ride a motorized wheelchair because it was such a moving scene," adding, "Actually, it was a little funny while I was filming."

Park Min-young and Yook Sung-jae demonstrated their professional acting skills by handling the eccentric script for "My Grandmother is a Gumiho." They brought the audition to a hilarious conclusion with an impromptu kiss scene ad-lib. Yook expressed his passion for acting, saying, "If I am with the director, I could even wear a cornrow braid and ride a motorized wheelchair." Park, defining herself as "an actor who wants to be an actor you can trust," earned a satisfied smile from Jang Hang-jun by stating, "I will do everything I am told." After leaving the audition room, the two continued to cause laughter by stating they had "too much fun before the script reading," showing they had already fully adapted to the world of "Master Hang-jun."

Following the broadcast, social media saw enthusiastic reactions, with comments such as "Master Hang-jun is funny, but Jang Hang-jun is the funniest," "The chemistry between Yook Sung-jae and Jang Hang-jun is fun," "It's great to see the actors' professional side during the script reading for Jang Hang-jun's next project," "Jang Hang-jun's expression when being seen through by Park Min-young is so funny," "Park Min-young has great variety skills," "The honesty of Park Min-young and Yook Sung-jae was charming," and "I've fallen for Master Hang-jun."

"Master Hang-jun" is a cinematic talk variety show about the secret auditions held by Jang Hang-jun—who was sometimes pathetic, sometimes servile, but more brilliant than anyone—to cast top actors for his autobiographical film "Master Hang-jun." The show features the sharp verbal interplay between the master Jang Hang-jun and the stars. It airs every Thursday at 9 PM on SBS.
