Ahead of its premiere on Wednesday, November 11, TV CHOSUN comedian Heo Kyung Hwan shared witty reflections on pet families in an interview marking five days until the first broadcast of 'Dogs to Brag About'.
In a "7 questions, 7 answers" interview, Heo discussed his confidence in his visual chemistry with co-host Han Hye-jin, his deep attachment to the healing variety show, and his thoughts on the two-episode pilot format.

TV CHOSUN’s 'Dogs to Brag About', which premieres this Wednesday, November 11, is a pet-bragging variety show where star owners appear with their dogs to showcase their special charms. Comedian Heo Kyung Hwan and actress Han Hye-jin will serve as MCs, adding witty commentary to the "bragging wars" of star owners.
Heo Kyung Hwan, currently a prominent comedian, shared his determination and impressions of the recording through the following interview.
1. You have risen to prominence with appearances on shows like 'Hangout with Yoo' and now you are the MC for 'Dogs to Brag About'. What were your thoughts when you received the offer?
I am sincerely grateful to be cast as the MC for such a great program. Above all, it feels like many good things are happening for me this year. Since so many people are giving me great opportunities, I will work hard without holding back to ensure the program is fun and receives much love.
2. Are you usually close to dogs? While watching the star owners and their dogs on 'Dogs to Brag About', were there moments where you felt truly envious?
I do wonder if it would have been different if I had lived with a dog or cat like other celebrities, since I have lived alone for so long. Currently, my parents are raising a puppy, so I am satisfied with that.
3. You are hosting with Han Hye-jin for the first time. How was the experience working together, and how would you describe your duo?
The combination... unbalanced? (laughs) A combination of an actress and a comedian might be a bit unbalanced, but I will try to keep the hosting balanced. Above all, Han Hye-jin is as meticulous as an announcer and has great diction, which was a huge help. If this becomes a regular program, I will have to work harder to contribute more to the fun and the hosting. Also, Han Hye-jin is visually the best, but I am not lacking in the comedy world either (laughs). I will make sure the viewers' eyes are entertained as well.
4. After the first recording, you mentioned that it felt like it would be a "dog owner's party" rather than a "dog party." How were the stars' dogs during the first recording? Are there scenes viewers can look forward to?
Perhaps because they are owned by celebrities, the dogs were incredibly beautiful visually. I thought it would be a chaotic "dog party," but they were calmer than expected and were so lovely looking only at their owners. Each dog has its own personality and various special talents. Genius dogs will also appear throughout the broadcast, showing talents so amazing that I wondered, "is this actually possible?" Please look forward to seeing them.
5. The quick wit and catchphrases you show on various variety shows might face a new challenge in front of dogs. Were there any unexpected situations or funny happenings?
I was worried about the dogs because unexpected situations could arise. However, rather than the dogs, the unpredictable actions of actress Ye Ji-won were quite funny and amusing.
6. Chef Lee Yeon-bok, with whom you are close, will appear with his dog, Saeng-il. Have you met Saeng-il before?
I met Saeng-il while being close with the Chef. Saeng-il has a bit of a story. He was a dog that went through a hard time and was very sick, but the Chef raised him to be as beautiful and healthy as anyone else. I hadn't seen him often lately and was wondering how he was doing, so it was nice to see him in the studio. Also, Saeng-il is very handsome. Handsome people recognize handsome dogs (laughs).
7. You are very active across various programs. What are your wishes for 'Dogs to Brag About', which is being presented as a two-episode pilot, and what would you like to say to the viewers?
To start with a regretful note, I think it is too harsh that there are only two episodes. Regardless of anything else, it seems celebrities brag about their dogs without hesitation. These points are so much fun, and I hope viewers can find healing while watching the dogs. I hope it becomes a source of bright energy in your mundane daily lives. Please look upon us kindly~♡
