Yang Min-je to perform Ravel and Scriabin at Seoul Arts Center on October 16

Pianist Yang Min-je will hold a solo recital at the Seoul Arts Center Recital Hall on Friday, October 16, at 7:30 PM. In this performance, Yang Min-je will showcase delicate color, deep musical expression, and intense pianism through the works of Ravel, Scriabin, and Prokofiev.

In this Yang Min-je Piano Recital, the program will include △Ravel's ‘Valses nobles et sentimentales, M. 61’ △Scriabin's ‘Piano Sonata No. 3 in F-sharp Minor, Op. 23’ △Prokofiev's ‘Piano Sonata No. 8 in B-flat Major, Op. 84’. The program begins with the sophisticated and delicate sounds of Ravel, moves through the internal lyricism and passion of Scriabin, and concludes with the intense rhythm and energy of Prokofiev.

The first piece, Ravel's ‘Valses nobles et sentimentales’, is a work that adds original harmony and diverse sounds to the traditional waltz form, allowing listeners to encounter the delicate colors and exquisite expressions created by the piano. The following Scriabin Piano Sonata No. 3 in F-sharp Minor, Op. 23 is a work where lyricism and dramatic tension intersect, and the final Prokofiev Piano Sonata No. 8 in B-flat Major, Op. 84 will conclude the performance with its characteristic sharp rhythms and intense driving force.

Yang Min-je graduated with honors from the Central Music School, completed studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and its graduate professional course, obtained a master's degree from the College of Music, Seoul National University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree. Having been recognized for musical capabilities by winning awards in major domestic and international competitions, Yang Min-je was appointed as a jury member for the Russian The X Villuan Piano International Competition in 2021. Currently, Yang Min-je is also dedicated to nurturing future generations by teaching at Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School, Gyeonggi Arts High School, Dukwon Arts High School, Incheon Arts High School, and the Incheon Arts High School Gifted Academy.

This performance provides an opportunity to encounter the broad musical world of Yang Min-je, who has built musical experience through studies in Russia and various stages at home and abroad. Through the works of three composers with different eras and musical languages, the diverse tonal colors and expressive possibilities of the piano will be presented on a single stage.
