Catenoid's Charlla Selected for AI Voucher Program... Automatically Creates Short-form Videos Just by Inserting Images
Catenoid has been selected as a demand company for the 2026 AI Voucher Support Program, which will allow its short-form video platform, Charlla, to implement an automated generative AI solution for commerce short-form production and operation.
Catenoid (CEO Kim Hyeong-seok), Korea's largest Video Technology as a Service (VTaaS) company, has been selected as a demand company for the '2026 AI Voucher Support Program' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (dedicated agency: NIPA). Through this, the company will build a generative AI-based commerce short-form production and operation automation solution for its short-form video platform 'Charlla'.
The AI Voucher Support Program is a system that provides vouchers to demand companies in need of AI solutions, allowing them to purchase and apply AI solutions from supply companies. Catenoid will partner with Vice Versa, an AI-based content production company, to carry out the project 'Establishment of Generative AI-based Commerce Short-form Generation and Operation Automation Solution'.
In this project, the supply company Vice Versa will customize and integrate the AI content production platform 'VIIMstudio' to be optimized for the 'Charlla' environment, based on the 'Charlla' service and customer data of the demand company Catenoid. Through this, they plan to build a one-stop service environment ranging from content production to operation.
Recently, short-form video has established itself as a core marketing tool for e-commerce, but small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have faced difficulties in production due to the burden of time and cost. This is because it takes several weeks from filming to editing and posting a single video, and the burden of outsourcing production costs is also high. Catenoid intends to significantly reduce the content production burden for e-commerce operators by introducing generative AI in this project.
Through this project, the two companies will implement a function where entering product images, product names, and key phrases into 'Charlla' allows the AI to automatically create short-form videos. Once the generated videos are reviewed, they can be immediately used on brand mall detail pages, short-form widgets, and marketing channels. After posting, performance data such as exposure, plays, and clicks can be viewed, allowing the entire process from content production to distribution and performance analysis to be handled within a single administrator environment.
In this project, Catenoid is responsible for developing the AI short-form generation function within 'Charlla' and integrating it with existing widget, distribution, and analysis functions. Vice Versa will provide the generative AI engine and API of 'VIIMstudio' and will play the role of customizing and improving the quality of image and text-based video generation functions to match the data structure and user needs of 'Charlla'.
Kim Hyeong-seok, CEO of Catenoid, stated, "Through this AI Voucher Support Program, 'Charlla' will evolve beyond simple operation into a comprehensive platform that supports AI-based production. We will create an environment where e-commerce operators can conduct short-form marketing more easily and efficiently, from production to operation."
Meanwhile, 'Charlla' is a no-code-based short-form commerce solution that allows users to easily place short-form content on their brand malls even without development knowledge. It has currently surpassed 4,300 cumulative registered brands, and its adoption is rapidly expanding into professional service industries such as medical, tax, and accounting, as well as fashion, beauty, living, food, and sports.
