SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor X: Era of the White Mafia' has announced its full-scale launch by confirming its premiere on Friday, October 9. This work is the first medical genre entry in the 'SBS Cider Universe,' depicting the activities of a 'medical dark hero' who breaks down absurdities.

The recently released script reading session was attended by the main cast, including director Lee Jung-rim and writer Pyeon Seong-geun, along with Kim Ji-won, Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-joo, and Kim Woo-seok. Kim Ji-won teased an intense transformation as Kye Su-jeong, a 'mad dog of the operating room' with genius surgical skills. Lee Jung-eun will play Jang Hee-sook, the director of a doctor outsourcing agency, and is expected to showcase a unique 'womance' chemistry with Kim Ji-won.

Son Hyun-joo, playing Bu Seung-kwon, the director of Guseo University Hospital, anchored the drama with heavy charisma, increasing immersion. Additionally, Kim Woo-seok, playing the 'golden spoon' intern Park Tae-gyeong, adds vitality to the drama by working in a mentor-mentee relationship with Kim Ji-won. A solid supporting cast, including Lee Jin-hee, Kim Yeong-min, and Lee Seong-uk, has also joined to complete a flawless acting ensemble.

The production team stated that the explosive synergy of the actors overwhelmed the set and asked viewers to look forward to the birth of a new medical dark hero. This drama, which is garnering anticipation due to the collaboration between director Lee Jung-rim, who directed 'VIP' and 'Revenant,' and writer Pyeon Seong-geun, is expected to captivate living rooms in the second half of the year.
