Folk indie singer-songwriter Soon will officially release the new EP ‘Biography’ at 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 10. Since debuting with the single ‘I Know’ in 2021, he has painted his own world with a warm tone and lyrical lyrics; in this album, based on folk and country, he weaves the trajectory of time passed into a single story.

The album title ‘Biography’ refers to the record of a person's life. However, the biography that Soon speaks of is not a grand chronicle. This album begins from the realization that when suddenly looking back at the days passed, that time was much longer than remembered. It is an album where a person, who could not even imagine living days like these when first facing the world, stands at the end of those long, long days and quietly calls upon the past.

This album, consisting of four songs, depicts that poignant biography—which is both his own and the lives of others—that was too long to be contained within short lyrics. It opens with ‘EPISODE of Misfortune,’ which brings out and lets go of the large and small episodes that left marks on life, and leads into ‘retrieve,’ which sings of the desire to grasp again the precious moments slipping through one's hands. Passing through the heart of comforting those left behind, it moves to ‘Cabin,’ which sings of a space of rest and regeneration where one steps back from the world to dream again, and concludes with ‘Invitation,’ which longs for the passing years from the perspective of those left behind. The flow, starting from misfortune and ending with an invitation, quietly suggests that life is ultimately the act of sharing the time experienced alone with someone else again.

Soon directly wrote and composed all the songs in ‘Biography.’ Based on the lyricism and bright energy of country, and using the unadorned performance unique to folk, the artist Soon will provide the closest record of the time he has passed and his attitude toward that time, capturing the textures of life as they are.

Soon's new EP ‘Biography’ will be released through various music streaming sites at 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, and a commemorative performance for the release of ‘Biography’ is scheduled for September 20 at the Gurum-arae Small Theater.
