'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' Ha-young to Exit, How Far Will the Pro-Japanese Controversy Reach?

[Special Times] Reporter Choi Sun-eun=Actress Oh Ha-young has decided to withdraw from the second season of the Netflix series 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' as a controversy regarding her great-grandfather's pro-Japanese activities has recently surfaced. Netflix officially announced, "Considering the actor's situation, we have decided not to have Oh Ha-young appear in the follow-up season."

Although Oh Ha-young's appearance was scheduled until recently, as public backlash grew, the production team ultimately changed direction to cancel her appearance. Accordingly, 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' is expected to begin filming this coming October without Oh Ha-young. The production team is currently conducting casting to find a successor for Oh Ha-young.

In a past broadcast, Oh Ha-young had introduced her great-grandfather as a doctor who first established a Western-style clinic in Hanyang and treated Emperor Gojong. However, the problem grew uncontrollably as allegations were raised that her great-grandfather belonged to a pro-Japanese organization. Although Oh Ha-young's side initially denied this, they eventually issued a public apology. Oh Ha-young conveyed her position, stating, "It was a fact I was unaware of, but I cannot avoid responsibility," and "I take the mistakes of the past heavily and sincerely apologize as a descendant." However, despite such an apology, the controversy is still not subsiding.
