Jeju Musically Talented Disabled Youth, Jeju Masterclass with the Viva Chamber Ensemble Application Deadline September 30

The ‘Jeju Masterclass with the Viva Chamber Ensemble’, organized by Jangaein Meonjeo Silcheon Undong Bonbu and supported by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education, is recruiting participants among musically talented disabled youth in the Jeju region.

This Jeju Masterclass was prepared to discover musically talented disabled youth in the Jeju region and to improve their musical capabilities through systematic lessons and ensemble experiences with professional music instructors.

The target for recruitment is students with musical talent and interest among those enrolled in middle schools, high schools, and special schools (including major courses) within Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. There are a total of 7 fields: △Violin △Viola △Cello △Flute △Clarinet △Piano △Vocal.

Students wishing to participate should submit an application form, a copy of their disability registration card, and a performance video (within 4 minutes, less than 400MB) via email. The application period is from Monday, September 21 to Wednesday, September 30, and detailed recruitment guidelines and application methods can be found in the ‘New News’ section of the Jangaein Meonjeo Silcheon Undong Bonbu website.

Participants will be finally selected through a review of the submitted documents and performance videos, and the successful candidates will be announced through the Jangaein Meonjeo Silcheon Undong Bonbu website.

Selected participants will participate in part masterclasses and ensemble practice by major on the first day, and on the second day, they will showcase the performance skills they have honed through a concert involving all participants.

Meanwhile, Viva Chamber Ensemble is a performance group founded in 2015, formed by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance and Jangaein Meonjeo Silcheon Undong Bonbu to discover musically talented disabled youth and young adults. Currently, members who have grown into professional performers continue active performance activities throughout the country, promoting the musical possibilities of artists with disabilities.

Through this Jeju Masterclass, it is expected to be an opportunity for disabled youth in the Jeju region to gain professional music education and performance experience, and to develop their musical talent and potential.

Introduction to Jangaein Meonjeo Silcheon Undong Bonbu

People with Disabilities First Movement is a national movement to care for people with disabilities and live together with them, and it carries out various awareness improvement projects such as essay contests for elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide to promote social integration of people with disabilities, Korea's First Class, Poco a Poco Camp and Concert, operation of Viva Chamber Ensemble, monitoring projects, and production of dramas to improve disability awareness.
