Kyowon Red Pen launches ‘3D Museum: Greek and Roman Mythology’ for elementary school students

Kyowon Red Pen is launching the ‘3D Museum: Greek and Roman Mythology’ complete collection for elementary school students on October 8. It features illustrations applying cinematic 3D techniques to capture major scenes from the myths, with a structure that unfolds the relationships between characters and events through stories.

The collection consists of 30 main books, 30 Bookshorts videos, and 30 story audio tracks. It links 50 episodes of Greek and Roman mythology to five competencies: critical thinking, convergent thinking, creativity, collaboration/communication skills, and problem-solving skills. The ‘Odysseus' Homecoming’ volume contains content that encourages thinking about responses in crisis situations.

Each volume applies ‘Competency-Strengthening 3-STEP Reading,’ which presents questions related to the competencies and allows readers to organize their thoughts on the situations in the stories before comparing them with the main text. The ‘Reading Together Guide’ is structured to help readers examine the connections between characters and events appearing in different volumes. The main books include QR codes that link to the story audio and Bookshorts videos.

Combining video and audio with the printed version and establishing question-centered reading steps appears to be an editorial direction aimed at handling both myth narratives and post-reading activities together. A representative from Kyowon Red Pen stated, “We expressed the stories of major gods and heroes through 3D illustrations applying cinematic techniques such as layout and composition, and structured it so that readers can read while asking questions themselves.”
