“We will defend the number one spot in viewership”

Jun Hyun-moo's thoughts on joining as an SBS Nagoya Asian Games caster

“10th year of idol archery broadcasting, I will make even those uninterested in archery sit in front of the TV”

“In tense moments, I will actually reduce my words” Jun Hyun-moo's commentary that brings fun and immersion

Ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, SBS has established a 'caster triangle' consisting of Bae Seong Jae, Jung Woo-young, and Jun Hyun-moo, and Jun Hyun-moo will challenge himself as an official sports caster for the Asian Games broadcast.

Following the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup 2026, Jun Hyun-moo will once again step up as a sports caster, this time handling the archery recurve broadcast at this Asian Games. He is expected to present a unique broadcast while being in charge of archery recurve, where gold medals are concentrated toward the end of the competition.

Regarding his thoughts on joining as a caster, Jun Hyun-moo expressed his determination, saying, "It is such an honor. Since many national athletes have worked hard through training, I will study hard so that their efforts are well-conveyed and defend the number one spot in viewership."

What Jun Hyun-moo is focusing on most in preparation for this Asian Games broadcast is 'fun' and 'easy delivery.' Jun Hyun-moo stated, "Since there are many people who are very good at general broadcasting, I want to add fun so that even those who do not usually watch can watch," and added, "I am studying to convey things like the rules of the sports in an easy-to-understand way."

In particular, archery is a sport where Jun Hyun-moo can demonstrate his own strengths. Although it is his first official sports broadcast, Jun Hyun-moo showed confidence, saying, "It was an entertainment program on another station, but I have been doing idol archery broadcasting for 10 years." He continued, "It is my first official broadcast, but I will prepare hard so that it does not feel that way. I will strive to make people who have not been interested in archery sit in front of the TV by bringing out the fun and interest not seen in existing broadcasts."

However, this does not mean he will present a broadcast where he talks unconditionally. Rather, Jun Hyun-moo is also focusing on enhancing the tension and immersion of archery. He explained, "Paradoxically, rather than talking a lot, I intend to practice selection and concentration. I will not try to be only fun, and in tense moments, I will actually try to reduce my words."

He added, "I will properly convey term explanations or exciting moments, but I am trying to control the pace well, such as holding my breath together during moments that truly require concentration or tense scenes," predicting a broadcast that captures both fun and immersion.

The archery recurve assigned to Jun Hyun-moo is a sport where gold medals are concentrated at the end of the competition. Jun Hyun-moo is scheduled to handle the moments when medals are decided and vividly convey the intense heat of the scene.

Finally, Jun Hyun-moo made a powerful declaration, saying, "I will show a fun and non-boring broadcast, but a thoroughly prepared broadcast, so that people can take an interest and become interested in the Asian Games. The Asian Games is SBS!"

Meanwhile, SBS, led by the 'caster triangle' of Bae Seong Jae, Jung Woo-young, and Jun Hyun-moo, will present broadcasts for major sports such as football, baseball, badminton, swimming, fencing, basketball, and archery. In addition, legendary commentators for each sport, including Gu Bon-gil, Im Dong-hyun, Song Dae-nam, and Kim So-hui, will join, predicting broadcasts that possess both professionalism and fun.

The SBS 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which is increasing expectations with the joining of caster Jun Hyun-moo, will open on Saturday, September 19 and will take place for 16 days until Sunday, October 4.
