Five finalists compete for trot prodigy title on KBS 1TV
The second season of the project to discover next-generation K-trot stars will conclude with a grand finale on October 21.
The top five finalists, including Han Su-jeong and Kim Tae-ung, will compete for the title of Korea's best trot prodigy this Wednesday, October 21. The final stage concludes a 10-week competition that began in August to discover future stars for the globalization of K-trot.
The intense journey of singing prodigies from across the country toward their dreams is finally reaching its final stage.
The second season of 'Find the Child Prodigy with Ha Chun-hwa and Lee Su-yeon!', a Wednesday segment of the 'Challenge! Stage of Dreams' corner on KBS 1TV's Morning Forum, will conclude its fierce competition this Wednesday, October 21.
The project was established to discover talents who will lead the future of Korean trot and to find the next generation of stars to drive the globalization of K-trot.
Since August, 26 prodigies who passed preliminary rounds from across the nation have participated in a 10-week competition. These young contestants showcased incredible vocal abilities and rich emotions that belied their young ages. Their journey created a sincere growth drama within 'Challenge! Stage of Dreams,' fueled by desperate stories of their dreams to become singers, the support of their families, and the sweat and tears shed behind the scenes.
Now, only the final match remains at the end of this long journey. The prodigies who reached the finals by overcoming formidable competitors will engage in a final showdown for the title of Korea's best trot prodigy.
The Final Stage of the TOP 5
In the final stage, the five contestants who received the most votes from viewers—Han Su-jeong, Kim Tae-ung, Jeong Seong-un, Jang Hye-jin, and Park Cha-oreum—are expected to deliver performances that maximize their individual personalities, talents, and vocal skills. The moments when these young challengers sing desperately for their dreams are expected to move viewers deeply, transcending the outcome of winning or losing.
The project gains additional significance as it features singer Ha Chun-hwa, who has been part of Korean trot history since the age of seven, and Soo Yeon Lee, who has risen from the "first trot prodigy" of Morning Forum to a rising star in the trot industry. The project is drawing attention as a special generational bridge, where a veteran trot leader representing an era and a next-generation trot protagonist work together to discover future stars.
Notably, the KBS AI special video team will present AI-generated performance videos showing the "TOP 5" prodigies as they might appear 10 years from now as leaders of K-trot. Producer Lee Heon-hui stated, "The prodigies have shown astonishing growth with every stage they performed. While winning is important, the greatest meaning of this project is that the children were able to introduce their names and singing skills to viewers and embrace hope and dreams."
He continued, "Among these children, a star will be born who will sing K-trot on the global stage beyond Korea. In the final, we will witness the passionate and moving performances of the TOP 5 prodigies pouring out everything they have honed so far."
Who will be the ultimate prodigy to lead the future of Korean trot and the globalization of K-trot? The final chapter of this intense and beautiful challenge will be revealed on October 21 at 8:25 AM during the 'Challenge! Stage of Dreams - Find the Child Prodigy with Ha Chun-hwa and Lee Su-yeon!' finale on KBS 1TV's Morning Forum.
