Korean Film Festivals to be Held Successively in Los Angeles and Hawaii, USA

Film festivals promoting the charm of Korean cinema will be held in Los Angeles, California, and Hawaii, USA. The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles will host the '1st Los Angeles Korean Film Festival' from September 24 to 26 at locations including the Harmony Gold Preview House, screening a total of 19 works.

At this event, director Yoon Ga-eun and actor Seo Su-bin will meet with the audience in conjunction with the screening of the opening film 'Master of the World'. Additionally, director Kim Ji-woon and actor Yoo Ji Tae will participate as guests, holding talks after the screenings of 'One Fine Spring Day' and 'A Tale of Two Sisters' respectively, while director Park Se-young's 'The Fin' and seven award-winning films from the 2026 Korea Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival will also be revealed to North American audiences for the first time. All programs are operated free of charge.

In Hawaii, the '2026 Hawaii Korean Independent Film Festival' will be held from September 25 to 27 at the Honolulu Museum of Art and the Doris Duke Theatre. This independent film festival, being attempted for the first time in Hawaii, will showcase 9 feature and short films including 'Super Dining', 'People and Meat', and 'Hawaii Love Song', and actor Ye Su-jeong and director Lee Yoon-jeong plan to communicate with the audience.
