According to media reports, the group LIGHTSUM held a one-day cafe event on the 25th at Cube Story in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their digital single 'Doshite KR ver.'. During the event, which was organized for SUMIT (fandom name) who verified their streaming of the song, the members acted as cafe managers, serving drinks and chatting with hundreds of visitors.
Through their agency Cube Entertainment, the members stated, "We held our first cafe event, something we really wanted to try, and we were surprised that so many SUMIT came." They added, "We are happy that we could make happy memories together. We hope there will be frequent opportunities to meet fans like this."
'Doshite KR ver.' is the Korean version of 'どうして' (Doshite), the title track of the Japanese debut album 'Re:idol' released in September. The song captures the excitement of a one-sided crush, and JUHYEON and HINA participated in the Korean lyric writing. LIGHTSUM performed the new song on Mnet's 'M COUNTDOWN' on the 22nd, the day of its release.
The group's success in Japan was also reported. 'Re:idol' reached 4th place on the Oricon Daily Albums Ranking, and 'どうして' (Doshite) recorded 3rd place on the YouTube popular music video daily chart in Japan.
LIGHTSUM is scheduled to hold additional release events in Saitama and Aichi, Japan, in November. Following this, they will meet local fans at the 'Re:idol SHOWCASE' (tentative name) to be held at Spotify O-EAST in Tokyo on December 28.
