NMIXX member SULLYOON has landed the double cover of WWD Korea’s November issue, with a photo shoot designed to capture both her gentle aura and her strong presence.
In the accompanying interview, SULLYOON discussed her feelings about NMIXX’s recent first grand prize win, the group’s sixth mini album, Strange Muse, her first contribution as a lyricist and the group’s world tour.
She said Strange Muse explores new approaches, including three unit tracks that pair the members in twos. She described the title track, Birthday Wish, as a song with a mood the group had not shown before.
SULLYOON also spoke about writing lyrics for the first time on Hot 'n Unbothered (SULLYOON, BAE), her unit track with fellow member BAE. She said she thought deeply about every word and expression, developing the lyrics through conversations with BAE.
Addressing fans, she said their encouragement during the album’s preparation had been a major source of strength. She expressed hope that the sixth mini album would be a warm year-end gift for them.
The released photographs show SULLYOON against a backdrop featuring artworks, with restrained expressions and natural poses. Styling that includes burgundy-toned shoulder bags and crossbody bags presents a more mature image. The shoot also offers a view of idol photography as more than a contest of visual appeal: a way to convey an artist’s current standing and future direction.
