SBS’s Friday variety show ‘I Will Do Anything for You - The Secretary’ (hereafter ‘The Secretary’) is continuing its hit streak by taking the No. 1 spot in Netflix variety programs for two consecutive weeks.
The SBS Friday variety show ‘I Will Do Anything for You - The Secretary’ (The Secretary), which aired on the 4th, rose to 2nd place overall in Netflix’s ‘TOP 10 Series in Korea’ and took 1st place among variety programs. Following its No. 1 ranking in variety immediately after its first broadcast on the 28th of last month, it has proven its steady popularity by maintaining its position at the top for two consecutive weeks.
Online reactions continue to be heated. From the first episode featuring BIBI to the second episode featuring Cha Tae-hyun, major scenes have spread through various digital platforms, with cumulative views for clips related to ‘The Secretary’ surpassing 15 million. After surpassing 7 million views just two days after the first broadcast, the cumulative views soared to 15 million after the second episode, continuing a steep upward trend.
In the episode aired on the 4th, Cha Tae-hyun appeared as a ‘my star’ and showed delightful chemistry with Lee Seo Jin and Kim Kwang Kyu. Lee Seo Jin and Kim Kwang Kyu acted as one-day managers for Cha Tae-hyun’s Amuttta Band concert, and Cha Tae-hyun revealed behind-the-scenes stories, such as how his wife wrote the lyrics for his representative song ‘I Love You,’ his veteran qualities in completing the performance despite having a cold for two weeks, and his Jeju Island love story with his first love wife. This was combined with Lee Seo Jin’s blunt remarks and the bickering chemistry of the three, providing plenty of laughter.
In the upcoming broadcast on the 11th, singer Seo In-young will appear as the new ‘my star,’ foreshadowing another battle of service. Seo In-young’s manager handed over an endless ‘Seo In-young instruction manual’ to Lee Seo Jin and Kim Kwang Kyu, stating things like “You must engage in a staring contest to establish dominance,” “You must treat her like a 5-year-old boy,” and “If her energy drops, call her a princess.” While Kim Kwang Kyu was flustered, saying, “The handover alone has already taken 15 minutes!”, Lee Seo Jin burst out of his seat saying, “You do it today, hyung,” and even caused laughter by declaring an unprecedented refusal to serve, saying, “They say there is still a lot left. I’ll come back next year.” Curiosity is rising as to whether Lee Seo Jin and Kim Kwang Kyu, having received the demanding ‘my star instruction manual,’ will be able to successfully complete the service for Seo In-young.
SBS’s ‘The Secretary,’ featuring Seo In-young as a ‘my star,’ will air on Friday, the 11th, at 11:10 PM.
