Sung-ri and Jang Han-byeol won the competition on their first appearance on KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' by performing Songgolmae's 'a chance encounter'.
The 772nd episode of KBS2's 'Immortal Songs', which aired on the 5th, was presented as the second part of the 'National Trot Grand Festival Special'. In this competition, Gyeongsang representatives Han Hye-jin and Eun Ga-Eun, Seoul representative Shinyu, Chungcheong representatives Sin-seong and Namkung Jin, Jeju representatives Kang Hyeyeon and Yang Ji-eun, and Global Hwagae Jangteo representatives Sung-ri and Jang Han-byeol appeared to showcase their stages.
Sung-ri, from Andong, Gyeongbuk, and Jang Han-byeol, from Brisbane, Australia, selected Songgolmae's 'a chance encounter' and delivered an intense performance combining dance and rock band styles. After defeating Yang Ji-eun and Kang Hyeyeon, who had previously achieved two consecutive wins, the two surpassed the final contestant Shinyu by two votes to claim the honor of final victory.
This broadcast recorded a nationwide viewer rating of 5.2% according to Nielsen Korea. With this, 'Immortal Songs' maintained its position as number one in the same time slot for 163 consecutive weeks and set a record by ranking first among all Saturday variety programs in viewership ratings.
