Sunnyside Up showcased its first character goods for the AI-based 3D animation 'Grandpa Gwidong and Jjingi and Jjangi' at Sejong University on October 9. The product lineup, which includes masking tape and keycaps, aims to expand the animation's intellectual property into stationery and lifestyle items.

Sunnyside Up (CEO Choi Mi-gyeong) participated in the Stationery Fair 2026 Fall held on October 9 at Gwanggaeto Hall, Sejong University in Seoul, showcasing character goods utilizing its original animation 'Grandpa Gwidong and Jjingi and Jjangi'.

The event featured a variety of products, including masking tape, stickers, and memo pads for diary decorating, as well as keycaps, slangi, and pouches. The product designs captured the characteristics and expressions of Grandpa Gwidong, Jjingi, and Jjangi, allowing consumers to encounter the animation characters in their daily lives.

Visitors to the venue examined the products firsthand, experiencing the characters and the worldview of the work. The participation was significant in that it expanded the character IP established through animation production into actual commercial products and allowed for the verification of consumer response on-site.

'Grandpa Gwidong and Jjingi and Jjangi' is an AI-based 3D animation inspired by the spirit of sharing of the late Choi Gwi-dong, a real person from Eumseong County, Chungcheongbuk-do. The story depicts the warm and pleasant lives of Grandpa Gwidong, who silently helps those around him, the mischievous mouse Jjingi, and the serious but clumsy spider Jjangi, as they live alongside forest friends and villagers.

Based on existing pilots, Sunnyside Up has been developing a five-part main series that evolves the characters' personalities and worldview while simultaneously developing character merchandise. The company plans to expand the scope of its content beyond video into stationery and lifestyle items to increase touchpoints between characters and consumers.

The main series contains ESG values such as environmental and energy conservation, resource reuse, empathy and consideration, and fair sharing and responsibility. The goods unveiled this time were designed as a medium to connect the three characters who lead the story and message of the work to daily life outside the screen.

The production of this animation and the development of the goods were supported by the '2026 Chungbuk Content Company Growth Advancement Support Program' of the Chungcheongbuk-do Institute of Creative Economy & Technology.

Using this participation in the Stationery Fair as an opportunity to increase the recognition of 'Grandpa Gwidong and Jjingi and Jjangi', Sunnyside Up plans to continuously expand its IP business by linking the animation with character products.

The vision of Sunnyside Up is to create a space of connection that resonates with the human experience through art and technology. Resonance refers to the creation of new experiences and sensory realities through the interaction between content and the audience, thereby creating deep emotion. Sunnyside Up is constantly striving to provide visitors with a new dimension of experience by fusing advanced technologies such as immersive content, artificial intelligence, performance video, and interaction.
