World Theme Travel, Iceland Camping Trip… First Broadcast on August 31
EBS1's 'World Theme Travel' will air a four-part series about a camping trip in Iceland from August 31 to September 3, featuring travel writer Tae Won-jun.
EBS1 'World Theme Travel' will broadcast an Iceland camping travelogue every evening at 8:40 PM from Monday, August 31, to Thursday, September 3. In this journey, travel writer Tae Won-jun participates as a curator to convey the stories of Iceland's wondrous nature and the people living within it.
Great Nature Created by Fire and Ice
In Part 1, starting from the capital Reykjavik, the journey explores lava shows and the magma chamber of the dormant volcano Herðubreið. Passing through the Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area of the Golden Circle, it captures landscapes where fire and ice coexist, including glacier cave trekking embracing the Katla volcano. In Part 2, it introduces unique terrains where hot geothermal energy and cold glaciers harmonize by visiting Kerlingarfjöll and Landmannalaugar in the Highlands.
Landscapes Imbued with Myth and Life
In Part 3, the journey visits Hafnarfjörður, where elf legends are told, and the Ásbyrgi canyon from Norse mythology. In the northern fishing village of Húsavík, the daily life of cod fishing vessels is highlighted, shedding light on the lives of locals. In the final Part 4, the series enjoys the Icelandic summer, where new scenery unfolds everywhere one looks, including the nature of the Thakkgil campsite, the scene of an Icelandic horse festival, and the Hofsós swimming pool.
