Busan Film Commission to Seek Global Film Industry Strategies at ACFM

The Busan Film Commission announced that it will operate industry programs together with the Asia Federation of Film Commissions (AFCNet) at the ‘2026 ACFM’ held from October 10 to 13. AFCNet, of which the Busan Film Commission serves as the chair organization, plans to set up a joint booth at this event to introduce the filming support policies and production environments of eight member organizations from eight Asian countries.

On the first day of the event, ‘AFCNet Members Spotlight’ will be held to share practical support measures such as location incentives and co-production funds in each country. In particular, experts belonging to the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) will participate to discuss collaboration methods for the Asian location market. This demonstrates that various Asian countries are seeking to advance their production systems beyond simply providing filming locations, and it is expected to contribute to the vitalization of international co-productions in the future.

On the 11th, the ‘The Timeline After Theaters’ forum will be held in conjunction with the MPA. At this venue, the reorganization of distribution models and investment recovery structures following the spread of streaming platforms will be discussed in depth by comparing the changes in release windows in Korea, the United States, France, and Japan. Kang Sung-kyu, the chairperson of the Busan Film Commission, stated, “Through this program, we will grasp the trends of the global film industry and prepare a new field for cooperation,” adding, “As the chair organization of AFCNet, we will lead the mutual growth of the Asian film and video industry.”
