The SBS Friday-Saturday Drama 'Chaebol X Detective 2' has opened the door to its second act amidst an unstoppable upward trend. This drama, broadcast every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM, depicts the collaborative investigation between third-generation chaebol detective Jin I-su and the new leader of Violent Crimes Team 1, Ju Hye-ra.

Peak Collaboration and Box Office Records

Jin I-su (played by Ahn Bo-hyun) and Ju Hye-ra (played by Jung Eun-chae), who were once arch-enemies, have transformed into a 'fantastic investigative duo' that respects one another through successive cases. Driven by this teamwork, the ratings as of episode 8 reached a peak of 9.3% and 8.0% in the metropolitan area, breaking its own highest ratings for two consecutive weeks. Furthermore, the 2049 ratings averaged 2.7% with a peak of 3.26%, ranking first among all programs in the same time slot, and as of August 31, it is ranking first in the overall content rankings for Disney+ in South Korea.

In Act 2, the mystery surrounding Yu Sŏngwŏn (played by Yoo Seung-ho), a sculptor and the younger brother Jin I-su cherishes, begins in earnest. Ju Hye-ra suspects Yu Sŏngwŏn of being a murder suspect in a serial disappearance case, and unlike his appearance in front of Jin I-su, Yu Sŏngwŏn shows a chilling confrontation with his mother Jung Tae-seon (played by Kim Hye-eun), heightening the tension. As Jin I-su's trust and Ju Hye-ra's suspicion collide, attention is focused on what phase the duo's collaboration will enter.
