FLO’s “Cheer On” feature recorded more than 1 million cheer-related plays and over 250,000 cumulative participants within a month of launch, Dreamus Company announced, according to media reports. About 130 acts took part during September. PLAVE ranked first among the acts receiving the most support, followed by TAEMIN in second place and BIGBANG in third.

Under “Cheer On,” fans create playlists for an artist, buy cheer tickets and share playlist links. Other fans can join by playing the shared lists. Those plays count toward the FLO Chart, Circle Chart and Billboard charts. FLO’s Cheering Lounge displays rankings for the top 20 artists and top 100 songs.

FLO selected September’s top three acts for subway advertising. PLAVE’s ad will appear on a large digital billboard at Hongik University Station. TAEMIN will appear on digital media along major passageways at Express Bus Terminal Station and Gangnam Station, while BIGBANG will meet fans through a wrapped ad at Gangnam Station. The ads will run for about a month starting on the 12th of this month.

Since “Cheer On” was introduced, new sign-ups in September rose 19% from the previous period, and the feature’s repeat-visit rate was 25.7%, according to Dreamus Company. Social media saw reactions welcoming the enthusiasm, along with calls to join in supporting artists with the goal of improving music chart results and earning subway ads.

The launch event will continue through December. FLO plans to recalculate the rankings each month based on support data and feature ads for the top three acts at subway stations the following month. Seong Jin-a, head of Dreamus Company’s Traffic Unit, said the company’s role was to turn the time fans spend listening to music together in support of artists into advertising they can see in their daily lives. She said the company aims to become a platform that gives fans and artists a sense of achievement and shares in artists’ growth.
